| The staff work hard to
maintain effective communication with parents. We know this is a particularly
important issue when so many of our pupils come to school on the bus
and we don’t see parents on a day to day basis. We operate a
Link Book system and undertake to write at least once per week and
whenever there has been a cause for celebration or concern. Parents
are asked to use the Link Book to write messages from home to school.
We also produce a termly Newsline which
gives all the latest news about events at school.
Parents
are encouraged to attend class assemblies (usually once every half
term) and Christmas and summer productions.
Every half term there
is an informal parent support group held at the school where parents
discuss particular issues of interest.
Throughout the year we
arrange social events and information evenings for staff and parents
– a bingo or quiz night in Autumn, a curriculum information
evening in Spring and a Barbecue in the Summer. We hope that parents
will make a special effort to attend their child’s Annual
review, which is normally held in the Summer term.
Children are quick to
pick up on the quality of the home school link. With your help,
it will continue to be a strength of the school.
